A Letter from Encouraging Star's May issue: BLOOM

Dear Sunflower,

You are so precious. Your light is needed in this world. Your glow is too unique to be kept under a bushel. Don't stress about the hows and whens. You were planted in this specific place for a purpose. Your job is to just bloom.

Don't let stress be the weed that chokes out your light.

There is more, but tonight I just wanted to remind you that you are special. Even if your current circumstance is not as glamorous as you hoped, that does not take away from your value. You are special. You are valuable. You are loved. This season is not your end. 💜

For the anxious babes: Not every thought deserves your attention.

🕯You don't have to chase every thought. Rest. Give it to God. "Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you" - Peter (in 1 Peter 5:7)🩷💌

Inner Truth: "We are not far from those we judge."

As I read more of the Bible, I start to see how the people we so effortlessly judged are more like us than we thought. Right now, I'm in the book of Job. His friends are condemning him repeatedly and refusing to hear his perspective. They refuse to entertain the thought that maybe all the bad things that are happening to him aren't his fault at all. Come with me as I explore the truth that we are not beyond becoming the people we judge.

When Anxiety and Faith Don't Cancel Each Other: A Letter To You

Don't you see? Can't you tell? Every lesson has been under the same 2 topics: faith & handling anxiety. I used to have anxiety as an excuse for everything. It was the reason I didn't “try this” or “go there.” However in this season/ time in my life, I've noticed I find myself “trying anyway” because God led me this way. With anxiety reminding me of reality and faith reminding me of Who sent me, I've walked on nervously.😄

It feels like every test has been an attack on my anxiety, and I'm learning that anxiety is shallow waters and not as defining as I once thought it to be. I never would have thought that an attack against me would help me grow but here we are. Being tested in matters of faith and temptation and walking on to the other side. Every single time, I'm grateful for making…

Bathsheba's Story

"You grow from darkness. You are not defined by it."

Featured in this month's issue of Encouraging Star is Bathsheba's perspective. Her life changed drastically because of David's greed. Her story is a reminder that we grow from the gloomy, dark seasons.

Many people may only remember her for her beauty or from David's "mistake." But she was more than the woman David slept with. She was the woman who went through pain. She lost her husband, her child, and her old way of life. Yet, God did not leave her in dispair. She became Queen Mother, a woman of wisdom, grace, and faith. Bathsheba is a proof that we can overcome, we can grow, and we can release bitterness even after facing the most heartbreaking moments of our lives.💜💜

LESSON LEARNED: Not All Work Is Productive

As I navigate this season of my life where my next step is still uncertain, I notice my tendancy of trying to "scramble" for direction. It didn't take long to figure out that just because I am "making moves," it doesn't mean I'm automatically going in the right direction. So, I'm learning (or I should say relearning through hard lessons of exhaustion and failed attempts) to work with what God has placed already in my hands as I wait for what's to come.

While I get back to my playlist of songs echoing Psalm 46:10, I'll drop the message I've been hearing a lot lately. "Your season is going to come in its time. So, allow the time to be spent stewarding what God has given you rather than neglect it as you wait for 'more to come.'" (Roger that. Over & Out.😄)

A Work In Progress

"By embracing an independent, authentic life narrative, we become a work in progress. We shed the old skin from the past, leap, create, and become a projection toward a new skyline."- Erik Pevernagie

Where you are may not be ideal, but trust that God is working. In the meantime, embrace who you are and steward what God has already placed in your hands. You are unique. You are special. You are God's Daughter. He led you to this place for a reason- find the good in where you are.
