KJ BLOGZ is a faith-based space for young Black women who are learning to walk with God.

Rooted in transparency and representation, it exists to remind every woman that her story — her growth, her healing, her process — is worth being seen and celebrated.

Khenyia J. Williams

From The Writer

Hai, I'm Khenyia J. Williams, the writer behind KJ BLOGZ. Raised in Mississippi, I learned to find safe spaces in books and cinema because there wasn't much positive representation of young Black queens in close proximity. However, in many instances, even the media I looked up to did not fit "me" in the picture unless "I" was of service to the MC, an example of "how not to live", or a body to soon slaughter or mistreat.

So, in my own way, I seek to spread positive, authentic representation of Black women as I shine light on the faith journey aspect of life- ups, downs, and in-betweens. While my focus is on young Black women, everyone seeking hope, guidance, or a safe moment of reflection is welcome here.

My mission is simple: to remind women that their journeys matter, their struggles are valid, and their faith is worth nurturing — even when the path isn’t perfect.

More Behind Why KJ Blogz

KJ BLOGZ- Encouragement When You Need It

Growing up, reading was my escape. Whenever life felt heavy or uncertain, I’d disappear into stories — into characters and worlds that offered comfort. But even in those escapes, something was missing. The faces I read about, the heroines I admired, rarely looked like me. Black women and girls, when they did appear, were often side characters — there to help, heal, or serve someone else’s story.

Tired of hearing the same indirect message that "Black women are to serve- quietly without complaint", I started rewriting. I would imagine myself into the stories — which led to the creation of new details, new endings, and new reflections. That’s where my love for storytelling began — not just from reading, but from reclaiming space inside the stories I read.

Beyond positive representation, this space was birthed from the abundance of what God has given me- encouragement. During my darkest moments, God has always found a way to keep me going via songs, quotes from someone else, or even through someone else's story or biography. I've learned (and am still learning), written, worshipped to this place of abundance. So, I hope the encouragment shared will help you guys keep going in your journey just as they continue to help me.

This space is for the young Black woman

who wrestles with doubt, fear, and insecurity,

who’s growing, healing, and learning to see herself as worthy,

who craves honesty and needs encouragement.

KJ BLOGZ is a safe place for transparent faith — a home for words that remind you that you’re not alone your process whether it be becoming, transitioning, or simply striving for more.

KJ BLOGZ is a step toward representation that feels real.
Because our stories deserve to be seen in their fullness: not just as side notes or stereotypes, but as reflections of strength, grace, and growth.

Once again, while my focus is on young Black women, everyone seeking hope, guidance, or a safe moment of reflection is welcome here. We all carry stories worth telling — and this space is where those stories finally take their rightful place at the center.
